Who we are
AdminAway provides sales and service automation for car dealerships and other businesses. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use this website, contact us or become a client. We handle it in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Information this website handles
- Message builder. The options and details you enter on our Contact page stay in your browser. They only reach us if you send the message in WhatsApp.
- Currency choice. Your browser's time zone and language settings are used on your own device to choose a currency. If you change the currency yourself, your choice is saved in your browser. Neither is sent to us.
- Fonts. This website loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives technical information such as your IP address.
- Hosting. Our website host may keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to run and protect the website.
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Information you send us
When you contact us on WhatsApp, we receive your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and whatever you write. WhatsApp is run by WhatsApp LLC, part of Meta, and its own privacy policy applies to your use of the service.
Client information
When a business becomes a client, we receive business contact details and billing information. To build and run its automations we may also process information about that business's customers, such as names, phone numbers, email addresses and vehicle or booking details. For that customer information, we act on the client's instructions, and the client remains responsible for having a lawful basis to use it and contact those customers.
How we use information
- To answer your enquiry and give you pricing or scope information
- To build, test, run and support automations for clients
- To send invoices and manage our client relationship
- To meet legal, tax and accounting duties
We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only where needed, with service providers that help us run our business and our clients' automations, such as hosting, automation, messaging, voice calling and accounting providers, and where the law requires it. Some of these providers may be outside your country. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information stays protected.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires, and then delete or anonymise it.
How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including limiting access to the people and systems that need it. No system is completely secure, so we will tell you and the relevant regulator about a breach where the law requires it.
Your rights
You may ask us whether we hold your personal information, ask for a copy, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to certain uses of it, including direct marketing. If we process your information for one of our clients, we may refer your request to that client.
If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa. If you are in the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
